This remarkable sideboard was inspired by the traditional Welsh dresser and reimagined to create a design that feels modern while bringing a touch of traditional design with a playful twist, along with a wealth of practicality and charm.
It features an entirely solid wood construction, developed from years of restoring antiques and observing firsthand which structures age best over time, ensuring this piece will become an heirloom that lasts for generations.
The design is made to feel airy and elegant despite its proportions. The finely tapered legs rise to a beautifully deep scalloped edge, creating a distinctive feature that highlights its craftsmanship and connects it perfectly with contemporary interior décor. The drawers are adorned with hand-cut cockbeading and stunning brass and moulded ceramic handles that finish the piece beautifully. The side panels are embedded within the frame of the piece, adding texture and depth to the design, while providing the perfect opportunity to introduce a charming bobbin trim for an extra touch of detail.
Because of the characterful timber we use, the large tops reflect an ocean of natural texture and organic details that reflect the grain of the timber in a complex and intricate manner. For the lovers of wood grain this is an absolute treasure that one can spend a long time observing and decorating the possibilities are vast as there are no limitations to the beautiful arrangements that can be done created of such an incredible surface.
Because of its proportions, the drawers are sized perfectly for linens and bulkier items, with a remarkable height hardly achieved in other pieces of furniture and operated by a stunning pair of undermount runners that not only ensure perfect functionality for life but also allow for a full-length opening, making it easier to tidy and access items.
This piece was inspired by one of our restorations, and we have long wanted to bring it to our collection. You can choose between the traditional character of oak or the modern sophistication of walnut. Additionally, the dimensions can be slightly customised by adding or removing scallops from the width or depth, ensuring it fits your space perfectly.
