A mid 20th-century mahogany side table with a distinctive scalloped top and turned legs, compact in size but with a strong visual presence. The top is shaped on all four sides with crisp scalloping that gives it definition, and the base is constructed with slender turned legs connected by square stretchers. The proportions are practical and balanced, making it suitable for use beside a chair, bed or sofa.

About This Piece

As part of the restoration process, the table was fully cleaned, structurally checked and refinished in our studio using a traditional shellac polish to renew the original finish. This method was chosen to preserve the character of the timber while evening out the tone and enhancing the natural depth of the mahogany. Light surface wear remains visible and was retained as part of the piece’s age and use.
