Every piece we restore in this design starts as a beautifully made antique, full of history, charm, and character. Built over 100 years ago using authentic traditional joinery.

We take the restoration of our pieces very seriously and always aim to ensure full functionality and a perfect result without affecting their historical character. This is why we always take a very conservative approach to restoration and make every effort to honour the original construction of each piece, while reconstituting it entirely to ensure it remains fully operational for a very long time.

Every piece we restore comes with a beautiful set of traditional, hand-carved barley twist legs. This classic turning pattern, reminiscent of a rope twist, adds intricate detail and a fluid, textured design that is authentic to the design language of its age.

A signature feature of our brand, in keeping with the antique design, is the scalloped edge. Each arch is shaped from solid oak into a prominent and decorative pattern that is highlighted by hand using a neutral coloured water based paint.

For added texture and a playful twist, we incorporate framed bobbin beading around each drawer and the lid. This feature creates a distinctive and charming look that complements the design and enhances its signature aesthetic.

A timeless texture with a warm, natural tone and a tight yet breathable weave that adds depth and character to the piece. Each panel is carefully hand-installed for seamless alignment and finished with a naturally durable, matte coating that enhances its elegance and longevity.

The interior is carefully painted as standard in Joa's White by Farrow and Ball, bringing brightness and durability to both the drawers and desk compartments. This choice enhances the aesthetic appeal, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere while ensuring long-lasting beauty and easy maintenance.
