A beautiful antique pedestal desk, dating back to the early 20th century featuring a classic solid wood twin pedestal structure, finished in our lightest wood tone, Blend #11, a smoky honey colour that highlights the natural variation and movement of the characterful oak grain. It is completed with solid brass knobs in an antique brass finish, offering a refined contrast and added depth to the lighter timber.

About This Piece

As part of the restoration, the plinth bases were rebuilt using period-matching oak, and all drawer fronts were replaced with new English oak for strength and consistency. The original leather top was removed and replaced with a solid oak surface, providing a more durable and practical workspace. Each element was sanded, repaired, and carefully refined to achieve a cleaner silhouette while respecting the desk’s original proportions.

The result is a robust and functional writing desk with generous drawer storage and strong visual presence. While its construction and detailing reflect its early 20th-century origins, the updated materials and fresh finish make it equally suited to contemporary interiors, combining historic charm with everyday usability.
