A fine mid 19th century English balloon back chair in solid mahogany, with a warm, mellow tone and gentle lustre characteristic of well-aged timber. The design is elegant and well-proportioned, with a softly curved back, slender rails, and finely turned front legs joined by a baluster stretcher. The seat retains its original hand-woven cane, beautifully preserved and full of character, a rare survival that adds genuine authenticity to the piece.
