Antique Oak Bobbin Turned Footstool with a Hand Caned Seat

A charming oak bobbin turned stool with a hand caned seat, dating from the early 20th century. The seat curves gently from side to side and finishes in a rolled scroll end set into a moulded frame above a scalloped apron. The four bobbin turned legs are joined by matching bobbin stretchers through squared blocks, and each stands on a turned foot. The timber has darkened to a deep even colour and the cane has mellowed to a warm honey tone.
