An antique oak bobbin lamp with a tall, slender form and finely stepped base, turned from richly grained English oak. The original bobbin turning features smooth, rounded forms that catch light across each curve, giving the lamp a strong rhythm and sense of movement. The proportions are refined and upright, making this a versatile piece for a side table, desk or bedside.

About This Piece

This piece was created by repurposing part of an antique table, originally sourced for restoration. While the table itself couldn’t be saved, the turnings were exceptionally pleasing so we salvaged and reworked them. The base was turned in-house with period oak and shaped to suit the scale and detail of the original component. Fitted with aged brass fittings and rewired with braided cable.

Lamp shade not included.

This piece has been fully PAT tested.

Important Note

This piece has been created by re-appropriating parts of an antique table that we salvaged. While most of the original structure couldn’t be kept, we were able to preserve the bobbin turning and rework it into a lamp, turning the base from the same oak to suit its scale. There are some light traces of previous woodworm, which have been fully treated, filled, and carefully colour-matched. Now barely visible in the final piece, but retained as part of its history and surface character.
