19th Century Bobbin-Turned Beech Chair with a Hand-Caned Seat
Taxes inclues
An antique bobbin chair, turned throughout in a continuous run of bobbins, from the uprights and spindled back to the legs and the stretchers that brace it. A hand-caned seat sits between, and the low stance lends it a quiet, informal character.
Solid and cleanly turned in a dark stained beech with good depth of colour. The seat has been re-caned and has since mellowed to a warm, honeyed patina. Light wear to the frame is in keeping with its age.
- Fully bobbin-turned frame
- Spindled bobbin back
- Re-caned seat, warm patina
